When I turn on the computer, the monitor black screen, what should I do? There are several reasons for the computer screen black, and the solutions are different for different reasons, so we must first find out what the reason is. Since there are more than one reason, what should we do if we can't judge the reason? You can only try one by one, you can start simply.

There are probably several reasons why is my computer screen black. First, the monitor is not connected to the power supply. Second, the data cable of monitor is not connected or damaged. Third, the memory is not installed properly. Fourth, there is a problem with the integrated graphics card or the discrete graphics card is not installed and the motherboard does not integrate a graphics card; the following will discuss the specific conditions of above reasons.

Four solutions for Computer black screen(Why is my computer screen black or my computer turns on but the screen is black)

Reason 1: No power is connected

This is a good judgment, just look at the indicator light on the monitor. On, it means that the monitor has been connected to the power supply(the power cord has been connected); otherwise, the power cord is not connected, just connect the power supply.

Reason 2: The data cable of monitor is not connected well or damaged

First turn off the computer, check whether the data cable of monitor is connected properly(whether it is loose), you need to check both ends, namely the connection between the data cable of monitor and the host and monitor. The data cable of monitor is generally fixed with two screws. It is best to first unscrew the screw from the nut and then unplug the data cable, and then plug it in again. Be sure to insert it firmly, and then tighten the screw.

Reason 3: Memory problem

If the memory is not plugged in(usually a beeping sound), or it is damaged, nothing is displayed on the monitor. If there are two pieces of memory installed, unplug one to see if the problem is solved; if there is still a problem, unplug the other one, and then reinstall it; if there is no problem, it means that the memory is causing the black screen of monitor. Install the memory. The problem is solved.

Reason 4: Graphics card problem

1. If the computer only uses the integrated graphics card, you can remove the discrete graphics card from another computer with a discrete graphics card and install it on the problematic computer(the computer must support this graphics card). If the display is normal, the integrated graphics card is broken. You need to buy a discrete graphics card, or repair the motherboard; if the screen is still black, it is not the integrated graphics card.

2. If the computer only uses a discrete graphics card and the motherboard does not have an integrated graphics card, check if the graphics card is loose, it is best to pull it out and reinstall it again. If the problem is resolved, it means that the graphics card is not installed properly; if there are still problems, the graphics card may be broken, or the graphics card slot of motherboard is broken, you can plug the graphics card into another slot(verify the graphics card is good or bad), also you can insert another graphics card into the original slot(verify the slot is good or bad).

3. If there is both an integrated graphics card and a discrete graphics card, the integrated graphics card will be automatically shielded at this time, which means that the problem of discrete graphics card may be relatively serious. You can remove the discrete graphics card to see if the problem is resolved. If it is resolved, it means that the discrete graphics card is the problem. At this time, you can install the discrete graphics card on another computer that supports it to check if there is a problem with the graphics card; if there are still problems, it may not be a problem with the discrete graphics card, or it may be a problem with both the discrete graphics card and integrated graphics card.
