Power, GPU and CPU fan not spinning when connect 4-pin CPU auxiliary power cable

When I presses the power of computer, it can't start without any response, but when the power is turned on, all the fans(power supply fan, CPU fan, GPU fan) will stop after a few rotations or will not spin at all, and the memory indicator will turn black when it lights up; it is usually considered a power supply or motherboard problem. Of course, there are these two possibilities, but there are other reasons; therefore, don't rush to change the power supply or motherboard in this situation, otherwise it will waste money and time to repair the computer.

Power, GPU and CPU fan not spinning when connect 4-pin CPU auxiliary power cable and memory indicator will turn black when it lights up, what should I do? There are three inspection methods from simple to complex, as follows:

1. Check whether the motherboard battery is still charged

If the computer has been used for more than five years, the motherboard power supply should be considered dead. The specific method is to buckle out the battery. If the computer can start normally, it means that the battery of motherboard is out of power and affects the computer to start. Just replace the battery of the same model. Of course, there is a new unused battery, you can replace it with one.

2. Check whether there is a problem with the power supply

If there are more than two computers, you can remove the power supply of normal computer and install it on the computer with the problem; if the fault persists, it means it is not a power supply problem. If there is only one computer, you can try to install only the 20-pin(or 24-pin) connector of the power supply to the motherboard. If all fans are running, the power supply is normal; in addition, you can also use tools(such as tweezer) to plug into the four pins(green) and the third pin(black) of power supply to force the motherboard to turn on. If the fan can spin, it means that the motherboard's power supply circuit is normal, that is, there is no problem with the power supply.

3. Check the motherboard

The above two situations are ruled out, and then the motherboard must be checked. Connect the 4-pin CPU auxiliary power cable, all fans will not spin or spin a few times, and the memory indicator will turn black when it lights up. This situation is much like a 12V short circuit or a broken main power management chip. Inspection and maintenance in this area require professional knowledge. I won't go into it here. You can replace motherboard with another motherboard for testing; if the motherboard does not last for a long time, you can repair it; otherwise, it is better to buy a new motherboard.

The above are the three solutions of Power, GPU and CPU fan not running; if you are not sure what the problem is, it is best to follow the sequence check, because the first ones are easier to check.
