After entering BIOS to crash, reset or reboot, it will die when hardware information is displayed

I bought a second-hand ASUS motherboard from the Internet. It can be said that there are many problems, and the computer often restarts or crashes for no reason. After just using it for a few days, it suddenly crashed when I entered the BIOS, and the disaster came: no matter how I reset it to restart it or shut it down and restart it, it crashes every time when the hardware information is displayed.

To be honest, I have been using a computer for more than ten years, and it was the first time I encountered Bios and died; after a few attempts, I considered that it might crash in the BIOS and the BIOS information was destroyed, so I tried to discharge to restore the BIOS settings to the factory state. As a result, it can enter the desktop after passing the hardware test; but the failure of restarting or crashing for no reason remains.

Solution(After entering BIOS to crash, reset or reboot, and it will die when the hardware information is displayed):

1. Remove the motherboard battery and discharge the motherboard

The motherboard battery is mainly used to save the setting information of motherboard after the computer is powered off. If the motherboard battery is taken out and the motherboard is out of power, the setting information will be restored to the state at the factory. The boot detection hardware fails, you can try this method.

How to get the motherboard battery:

Different motherboards have different methods. Asus and MSI motherboards have flat-mounted batteries. Remove the iron piece that is stuck in the battery and the battery pops up; the elite motherboard battery is installed vertically and can be pulled out directly.

2. Hardware elimination method

The computer can run if it has a CPU, motherboard and memory, so you can temporarily disconnect some very necessary components(such as hard disk, graphics card, optical drive, etc.) from the motherboard and power supply to see if the computer is still crashing. If the fault persists, it means that it is a problem with the CPU, motherboard or memory. Generally speaking, there are very few problems with the CPU, and the problem with the motherboard or memory is high; you can try another memory; and the motherboard restarts mostly due to power management or computer power problems. If the computer can work normally, it means that the hard disk, graphics card or optical drive is the problem, you can install them one by one to check which component is the problem.
